Visit of a group of engineers from Malta

Today we were visited by a group of engineers from Malta who specialise in lighting design.

According to the members of the group, their main objective is to offer a complete service in lighting design. Light is a fundamental aspect of architecture that enriches the character and qualities of spaces. Each project is unique, so lighting design requires large amounts of innovation and creativity to achieve the desired results and enhance the spaces where the luminaires are installed. Ultimately, everyone should feel comfortable and enjoy the environment they are in.

The visit lasted for three days, during which the group of engineers was able to learn more about emergency lighting and to gain an in-depth understanding of its fundamental features. Among other things, they inspected the Daisalux products as well as the regulations in force in Europe and those that apply directly to Malta.

On the first day, the group arrived in the city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, where the Daisalux factory is located. On the second day, they planned a visit to the factory where they were given a tour of some of the most important departments. After, they took a short break in the cafe before attending a training session on the key concepts regarding emergency lighting as well as signalling luminaires. Once the exhibitions on the most technical features had finished, the group's members enjoyed the good weather and the architecture of the region of Rioja Alavesa.

The third day was spent presenting the Daisa calculation programme, used to carry out emergency lighting projects and to calculate where to place the necessary light points to create open areas and safe escape routes, always in compliance with Maltese regulations.

An analysis was also made of the different systems used to connect, control and test the correct functioning of a complete emergency lighting system. Daisalux uses three main systems: AutoTest, TCA and DALI, weighing the advantages and disadvantages of one over the other. Last but not least, time was set aside to explain the features of the central power supply units, such as the LPS Series or the CB Series.

It's a pleasure to welcome visits of this kind and we enjoy presenting our product to lightening designers as they really appreciate the effort put in to creating aesthetically pleasing luminaires which enhance the environments in which they are installed.
