Palacio de las Dueñas is characterised by its approachable scale. Courtyards, gardens, galleries and rooms make up a sequence in which the experience relies on the transition and on the relationship between the inside and outside.

The building combines areas for private use with rooms open to the public, which throws up a particular issue: the areas visited must comply with the regulation on escape routes without losing the domestic atmosphere that defines them. It is a matter of preserving the experience of a space that is, first and foremost, a home.

To achieve this, the BLOCK luminaire has been strategically located in critical access points and circulation routes. Its colour blends in with those of the age-old walls and plasterwork, so that it goes as unnoticed as possible without sidestepping regulatory compliance. Its compact design respects the space’s décor and keeps the building’s domestic harmony untouched.
